Besides the famous Plautus festival – a festival performing Plautus’ comedies that takes place yearly at the Arena Plautina – Sarsina boasts several cultural and naturalistic attractions. The pot-holes along the Molinello stream and the Lagaccio ditch (on leaving the built-up area towards Bagno di Romagna) represent a particular phenomenon of fluvial erosion which is considered unique for Romagna and rare in Italy. The vast area to the north-western of Sarsina is also of great interest: an uncontaminated environment, lacking in settlements, where the remains of modest houses and the ruins of the parishes of Careste, Ruscello and Badia San Salvatore in Montalto are visible, an ideal destination for pleasant excursions |
