Hystory of Dymi
Dymi was -after Patras-the second bigger city of the west Achaia and together with Patras and two other cities,Tritaia and Pharai, reorganised the Achaean League in 280 B.C. The Achaean League had conflicts with the Aetoleans. In the side of the Achaeans was the king Philip the 5th while in the side of the Aetoleans were the Romans. The Consul and General Publius Sulpicius Galba destoyed Dymi but after 208 B.C. Philip helped the citizens to reconstruct their town. In Dymi there was an anti-roman atmosphere until the time that the population was reduced and became roman colony. Mommius won the Achaeans and destroyed Corinth in 146 B.C. The towns administrated by rich local friends of the Romans. In 67 B.C. Pompey established pirates in Dymi. Augustus tried to make Dymi an important and powerful roman colony so he also transferred roman citizens in town and after him Tiberius did so.
